Ben Owens Photography is proud to work alongside all BC businesses in the fight against Covid19 and like all of us, is taking a respectful and cautious approach to providing services as we move through to the next phase of easing provincial restrictions. With this in mind, safety for our clients and our team is our first priority, we will be guided by the BC Governments ‘BC Restart Plan’
What we’re doing.
Specifically, we will be following the ‘Reducing Transmission’ checklist for businesses, as set out by the BC Governments ‘BC Covid19 Go Forward Strategy’ to ensure we are providing our clients, our team and our vendors with contactless and safe services.
Some key measures we will be taking for all photoshoots:
Utilizing contactless operations via longer lenses for portrait shoots and careful procedures when entering properties or studios.
For outdoor shoots: no more than 10 people on set at any time and with at least 6 ft between at all times.
For indoor and studio shoots: a maximum of 7 people on set at any time with at least 6ft between at all times.
We will only book studios and work with vendors who have a visible, and approved BC Government Covid19 safety plan in place.
PPE’s: For indoor shoots specifically, and where social distancing may be limited, our team will be using PPEs (facemarks and gloves) during the photoshoot.
Body Lotions: We will no longer be providing, or applying any lotions, body butters, body shine. All body lotion applications must be self applied OR applied by a professional vendor that the client has approved and consented to.
Equipment Safety & Disinfecting: We will be providing disinfectant wipes on all shoots to regularly wipe down equipment that may come into contact with clients, our team or our vendors.
Supplier Cancellations and Refunds: If our team is sick, we will cancel the shoot and reschedule. If you cannot re-schedule, we will refund all advance payments and deposits in full.
Deposits: All bookings moving forward, will now require a 50% deposit at the time of booking by way of E-Transfer (no exceptions) with the balance due on completion of the shoot date.
Contracts & Waivers: All of our clients, team members, models and vendors must sign our Covid19 risk liability waiver when confirming their booking.
We welcome all of our clients to talk personally with us about any concerns they may have and how we can continue to work together in the creative community, whilst working together safely in the movement against the spread of Covid19.
WHAT YOU CAN DO.
Reducing the spread of Covid19 and getting us closer to a new ‘normal’ is incumbent on all of us to work together. Safety is a 2 way street and when booking a shoot with us, we ask that while you keep your own health mind, you also keep the safety of our team in mind also. Please ensure you have your own transmission reduction strategy in place when booking with us and that you are familiar with, and are actively practicing the CDC Covid19 Prevention & Risks Guidelines.
• If you have the symptoms of a cold, flu, or Covid-19 including a cough, sneezing, runny nose, sore throat, fatigue you must stay at home.
• No hand shaking as the new normal.
• Practice good hygiene (frequent hand washing with soap and water and use of hand sanitizers; avoid touching one’s face; respiratory etiquette; disinfect frequently touched surfaces).
• Maintain reasonable physical distancing as much as possible and use a non-medical mask or face covering in situations where reasonable physical distancing cannot be consistently maintained.
